Her Most Vulnerable Moment
Several years ago, my friend Francesca shared some words with me during one of the most vulnerable periods of her life:
Some days, I try to imagine the future. I close my eyes and try to picture a life that feels clean, fresh, possible. But it’s like trying to run underwater. Every step is heavy. Every thought drags me back to the mistakes I made and the chances I lost. People say, “Move on,” but they don’t see the walls that I see in my head. I want to believe there’s more for me. I want to believe I’m not just my biggest mistakes. But I don’t know how to get there. I am trapped. Stuck. No one has a time machine to take me into the future.
Her words deeply moved me, inspiring me to look for a way forward—not just for her, but for anyone struggling in the same way.
I wrote Stuck in Yesterday: Visionary Practices for Building a Purposeful Future for Francesca, and for you, if you have ever felt anything remotely similar. I know I have. While I couldn't invent a literal time machine like Doc Brown to help Francesca escape yesterday, I could create a guide for moving forward, beginning with reconnecting with purpose and then building five more codes of self-knowledge to live that purpose.
One of the biggest reasons we get stuck in yesterday is because we confuse who we were with who we are becoming. To break that cycle, we have to look inward.
Of course, I wasn't born knowing any of this. The insights in this book come from decades of personal growth, coaching, spiritual practice, and the wisdom of extraordinary teachers. Among them is my Yoga Guru, known to the world as Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, but to his followers simply as Baba (meaning father or beloved).
I know the word "Guru" can sometimes feel intimidating or foreign, but to me, it simply means a guide who helps clear away the darkness and shows you your true potential.
You might be wondering: Does reading this book mean I have to study yoga philosophy? The answer is both yes and no.
While many of these principles are inspired by ancient yogic wisdom, they are presented in a practical, modern way that anyone can apply, regardless of your background or beliefs. Baba’s profound teachings on consciousness, ethics, and the secrets to human success form the pillars of this book's foundation. But I am not asking you to follow Baba. I simply know firsthand how these teachings can transform a life. They certainly transformed mine.
In my latest YouTube Short, I introduce the six codes of the Higher Purpose Codex and explain how they can help you shift from feeling stuck to living with clarity and direction.
I truly believe you don’t have to completely reinvent yourself—you just need to realign with who you realy are.
If Francesca’s words resonated with you, you don't have to stay stuck running underwater. Stuck in Yesterday: Visionary Practices for Building a Purposeful Future is available right now. Grab your copy on the home page or click here to grab your copy on Amazon and start living your purpose today.
