Pilgrimage to Machu Picchu 2024
Join us on a life-changing journey through the Andes Mountains to the sacred temple of Machu Picchu, where you’ll experience a unique blend of adventure, healing, and spiritual growth. Led by a professional guide and Quechua paqos (shamans), this trek offers an exciting itinerary visiting natural sites and a full day of shamanic healing for physical and mental well-being.
On our pilgrimage, we will honor sacred biome beings like Salkantay Glacier, Humantay Lagoon, and Machu Picchu Temple. We will trek the Inca Trail (Qhapac Ñan), on pathways the Spanish never found, all while enjoying the comfort of a private guide, porters, and well-prepared campsites. Highlights include gourmet meals, a coffee-making workshop, bathing in thermal baths, and meditative moments by the mountains. By the end of this transformative pilgrimage, you’ll receive a certificate marking your accomplishment.

Meet your teachers
I am Gustavo Kusi Monje (Quechua) one of your teachers and one of the paqos (shamans) that will be assisting you. My journey has taken me on several shamanic pilgrimages through the Andes and to the spiritual sanctuaries of India, where I received my meditation teacher training.
I am Wayra Quispe (Quechua) a professional trekking guide, teacher, and one of the paqos (shamans) assisting you on this journey. Visit my tour company Wilkapacha Experiences to learn more about what I do.
You will be invited to fill out a survey before our trek, during and one month later to help Kusi (Gustavo) collect qualitative data for his PhD field work in Regenerative Leadership and Visionary Practice. Your answers will help inform his research on the benefits of Indigenous teachings and practices for wellness, and you will be kindly asked to sign a consent form. These surveys will be short and given in the spirit of not taking over the joy of the experience.

Our seven day trekking pilgrimage to Machu Picchu involves five days of hiking through the mountains for extended periods (4-8 hours a day). We recommend that you condition your body properly prior to coming. The trek can be very strenuous causing knee pain and other physical discomforts if your body is not trained properly.
To prepare, endeavor to go on weekly hikes at least six weeks prior to our trip, where you work your way up to hike for 5-6 hours. Find the local mountains near where you live to train your body and practice trekking. Also, endeavor to have a regular gym routine, where you work-out and build muscle on your legs on a consistent basis. This is very important for you to have an enjoyable time. For participants who would like less trekking, we are offering the option to join our group for only five days, which will only have 4 actual days of trekking. This option can reduce the strenuousness of hiking.
In case you don't know, food in Peru is a delicacy! Our chefs ares professionals, who will be cooking all vegetarian meals. On one or two occasions, we may visit a restaurant where meat will be available. Our chefs can accommodate dietary preferences. Please let us know in advance what you would need.
At the beginning of the trek, we will be camping near glaciers where temperatures at night can get very cold. You will need to bring proper layers to stay warm. Our route also takes us to tropical areas where the temperature is very mild. When you sign up, more details will be provided on what to wear and how to prepare.
This pilgrimage is for spiritually minded people, who are physically conditioned to trek. It is for seekers, who want to visit Machu Picchu and at the same time want to learn about shamanic practices. An active interest in wanting to participate in ceremonies while we trek is crucial.
Once you sign up, you will receive emails and join our Whats App group where all sorts of details on how to prepare and what to bring will be answered.
Yes. We are offering the option for people to join our group for only 5 days, which can reduce the strenuousness of hiking. Price for five days is coming soon.
